Juice Fast

Well, my juice fast, uh. . . was fast. As in short. It didn't last. I am due for my period and I don't want to do the juice thing and my period at the same time. I've done that before and it sucks. It makes the hard parts of both the juice fast and being on my period even harder. Nope. Not going there. I thought that I'd moved this fast up enough to avoid my period. Guess I was wrong. So, I'll try again after my period.

And yes, I will talk about my period here. It's my body. My blog. My period. If you don't like it, deal.

Juice!

I'm on day one of a 3 day juice fast. Well, that's what I'm calling it anyway. I can have juice and raw cashews and raw greens. And lots and lots of water. Oh, and I can have a bit of coffee in the morning to ward off the caffeine that I get in the absence of coffee. One thing at a time, eh?

What day are we on?

Wow, this week has flown by. I can't seem to catch up.

I've been doing very well taking my meds and supplements. For the most part, I've thought about what I was eating when I ate in and have made the conscious decision to eat. That's good.

I have done some of the crunches, scissor leg thingies, and pelvic lifts but not 40 each and not each day. I exercised on Tuesday (went on a fire call - counts as exercise in my book).

I have been cleaning in the kitchen lots - cupboards, spring cleaning stuff (in January). I tidied and vacuumed the living room and swept the kitchen/dining room floor. I cleaned my half of the bathroom counter and the mirror and window in the bathroom. I've done a fair amount of laundry and have washed, folded, and put away diapers.

I have not taken my blood pressure at all.

I also have not weighed. The not weighing is actually progress.

To Post, Or Not To Post?

I've been struggling with making healthy choices and working toward my goals. When I don't have a day I'm proud of, I don't want to post. I need to post every day, even if I am not proud.

So, here's to starting over.

My goals:

1. Take meds every day
2. Take supplements daily
3. Take blood pressure daily
4. Think about my food choices when I eat. Think about why I'm eating.
5. Do 40 crunches daily
6. Do 40 scissor leg thingies daily
7. Do 40 pelvic lifts daily
8. Exercise 3 of 7 days
9. Clean one area of my home daily
1o. Weigh no more often than once a week.

Goal Check in For Thursday, Jan. 21

1. took meds

3. did not take blood pressure
4. thought about what i ate before i ate it. today i ate because i was hungry but did not always make wise food choices.
5. no crunches
6. no scissor leg thingies
7. no pelvic lifts
8. exercise? not formally. but i spent hours today working in the house so at least i was active. i didn't just sit on my ass all day. my body is tired.
9. cleaned baby's room. worked on cleaning the kitchen and laundry.
10. did not weigh.

Feelings and body check: body - tired. mild fibromyalgia flare. migraine. significant stress. heartburn. feeling the ab work and i like that.

feelings: stress. relief that we had an appt with a neuro doc for luken. nervous about upcoming MRI and anesthesia for luken. in love with my wife. feel like i don't have enough time or energy to do the things i want. frustrated that i let the weather keep me from exercising. freezing rain and napping baby. grrrrr . . .

Today was a sucky day as far as meeting these goals. I got up at 0400 and I am exhausted. Took my baby to the hospital for tests and then took care of a needy fussy baby for the rest of the day. He's sweet and I'm worn out. Ok, body check: migraine, very tense shoulders and neck, feeling crunches from yesterday. Emotions: relieved that today is over, tired.

I will do better tomorrow.

3. blood pressure: 154/93
4. I didn't think about eating before I ate today. I didn't eat a whole lot of junk though.
5. Did 40 crunches
6. Did 40 scissor leg thingies
7. Did 40 pelvic lifts
8. Did NOT exercise
9. Did the dishes
10. Did not weigh today.

Body and feelings check in. My body is tired. I have a migraine, maybe because I didn't have coffee (caffeine) today. I am worried tonight because tomorrow I'll be taking my baby in for a sedated EEG. I'm not worried about the EEG, rather, the sedation. I feel like I just have to focus on getting through that and then I can focus on me again.

Ok, starting in November, I weighed 225 pounds. At last weigh in, I weighed 214.

Each week, I will post my goals for the week. Each day, I will post how I met those goals that day.
